Dear Congressman Wolf:
Why haven’t you fired your employee, Ben Dutton, who in your presence, assaulted one of your constituents?
Oh that’s right, you’re our Congressman, you don’t answer our questions.
Sincerely,
The Taxpayers Who Pay Your Salary.

God love Paul Begala! His blog post on Congressman Frank Wolf and the caning incident involving Judy Feder’s staffers is worth a read. My favorite part, he dubs Wolf, “Congressman Frank Wolf, R-Status Quo.”
Begala writes:
If there was any doubt that Frank Wolf is out of touch, the proof is in that video. When a self-proclaimed champion of human rights tolerates the beating of his political opponents, you know it’s time to retire. Perhaps the incident—which has drawn tens of thousands of YouTube viewers—will raise some money for Feder. Apparently she has a new campaign expense: body armor for her staff.
Judy Feder will win on Tuesday if you volunteer for her between now and Election Day. Visit www.judyfeder.com for details.

Despite condemnation from fellow Republicans and newspapers across the country, Sen. Elizabeth Dole insists nothing is wrong with her sleazy ad in North Carolina telling voters that her opponent, State Senator Kay Hagan, is an atheist!
In fact, Sen. Hagan is a Presbyterian elder and Sunday School teacher at the First Presbyterian Church in Greensboro. She’s also a tough campaigner. Today, Sen. Hagan released a response ad and she filed a lawsuit against Sen. Dole and the Dole Campaign.
We need more fighters like Kay Hagan in the Senate. Make that happen and contribute to Kay’s campaign: www.kayhagan.com.

Here in Virginia, we’ve seen our share of candidates who have used religion to divide and conquer the electorate. Congressman Virgil Goode’s ignorant, demogogic rants against Congressman Keith Ellison immediately jump to mind.
But nothing the bigotted Virgil Goode has done compares to the latest advertisement released by Sen. Elizabeth Dole in North Carolina in her campaign against State Senator Kay Hagan. Continue reading

Good news! The Roanoke Times has endorsed Tom Perriello and his bid to unseat Rep. Virgil Goode. I think this calls for some old-fashioned bluegrass music from the new band sweeping the 5th District, the Perriello Pickers!

The Washington Post’s Marc Fisher will hold a live chat about his latest column, “What’s Real About the Split In Virginia” at noon ET on Thursday, Oct. 30.
My take is that ALL Virginians want a decent job, affordable healthcare, good schools, lower and fairer taxes, a government that works for them, safe streets and society where anyone who works hard and plays by the rules will succceed.
That’s not a Democratic value or a Republican value — that’s an American value. What do you think?
