Remember George Allen? You remember him. Former Governor and Senator from Virginia. As Frank Rich writes in today’s New York Times, Allen’s “macaca” moment seems like ancient history, yet apparently, it’s turned out to be the McCain-Palin playbook.
As Rich writes:
…white Americans are not remotely the bigots the G.O.P. would have us believe. Just because a campaign trades in racism doesn’t mean that the country is racist.
