This Tuesday is the final election day of consequence. On Tuesday, voters in Georgia will have the chance to fire Saxby Chambliss and hire Jim Martin as their next U.S. Senator. I hope they do.
Saxby Chambliss is a recalcitrant, self-righteous man who has no intention of EVER working across party lines. That’s his history and he’s quite proud of it. In contrast Jim Martin has a long history of working on a bipartisan basis to get things done for Georgians.
Observers say voter turn out will be very light. They also say African American turnout will be very low. I hope Georgians will prove the observers wrong and elect a new U.S. Senator.
To do your part, please call or email your friends in Georgia and hound them into voting. This election could prove decisive to many things Democrats care about. Think about how hard you worked to elect Barack Obama. If you’re like me, you don’t want to wake up on Wednesday and find out Sen. Chambliss was re-elected.
It doesn’t have to be that way, but you have to call your friends in Georgia and ask them to vote for Martin.
Do your part.
