The Unrepentant Virginia Foxx

Eight days after calling the circumstances surrounding the death of Matthew Foxx a “hoax” North Carolina GOP Congresswoman Virginia Foxx sent an handwritten apology note to Shepard’s mother, Judy Shepard, who witnesses Foxx’s lies first hand from the House Gallery.

Neither Ms. Shepard nor Congresswoman Foxx will reveal the content of the letter, but in an exclusive interview with WXII-TV, the highest rated television station in her district, Foxx’s response to the question if she still believed Shepard’s murder wasn’t a hate crime was very telling.

Foxx laughed and said, “Well, I think I used the wrong word and I think we should just let it go at that.”

She doesn’t sound too sorry to me.

Mr. Shepard’s death was nothing less than a tragedy, and those responsible for his death certainly deserved the punishment they received. I am especially sorry if his grieving family was offended by my statement. Continue reading

Virginia Foxx Launches Lying Contest with Michelle Bachmann

North Carolina GOP Congresswoman Virginia Foxx has apparently launched a competition with Minnesota GOP Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann to see who can lie more. Here is Rep. Foxx’s latest entry, which I think beats Rep. Bachmann’s entry where she blamed the Great Depression on FDR. Yes, what Rep. Foxx said is a BIGGER lie than that. Continue reading
